How do I change the default user settings?

To override the Default User Settings in Orca, go to Configuration > Default User Settings and manually select Default Language and/or Default Time Zone. End users can also override these settings on their own Account Settings pages.

Default Language
The Default Language setting is the interface language that the Orca will use by default. This will primarily affect the language in which the login screen is displayed; after that screen, the user interface is presented in the language chosen by the user when logging in. Keep in mind, web browsers advertise their language preferences when communicating with the Orca, so if a user’s browser is set to prefer a language that the appliance supports, the login screen will use that language instead of the system default.

Available Languages:

  • English
  • Chinese (simplified)
  • Chinese (traditional)
  • Japanese
  • French

Time Zone
The user’s timezone will be used to offset times that the user submits through web forms before the times are used to schedule backend processes or search for emails. The user’s timezone will also be used to offset any backend UTC/GMT times before those times are displayed to the user. Unless the user’s account settings explicitly overwrite the default timezone, the default timezone will be used for the saving and displaying of all times.

Select Default Language and Time Zone and click Save.

Note: The success message is visible for few seconds only. If you change language, you will have to logout and login to see changes. Any user who is logged in will not be impacted until the next time you login.
