One question that arises from this sort of implementation is why not move the older data to a cheaper storage and keep the new data on near line storage? Intradyn implemented this type of solution very early and it is still available in both the solutions. Over the years we have found that the needs of our customers have changed. Our customers need fast access to data. To solve this problem we need more processing power. That’s why we implemented this solution where multiple machines act like a single solution.
