Case Study: McAfee Replacement For Taylor County, WI
Taylor County Selects Intradyn’s Email Archiving Solution as Seamless Replacement for McAfee
Name of Project: McAfee Replacement For Taylor County, WI
Type of Project: County Government Archiver
When Taylor County IT Director Melissa Seavers started looking for an email archiving solution to replace her soon-to- be-nonexistent McAfee archiving software, she did what many consumers do and started searching online for replacement software.
As the person in charge of finding a new email archiver for Taylor County, a governmental agency with 180 users situated in northern Wisconsin, Seavers had previously relied on McAfee for all of the county’s email archiving needs — however that all changed when McAfee announced it would discontinue selling and servicing its archiving solution beginning in early 2017.
THE CHALLENGE
When Seavers started looking online for potential archive replacement software she knew she needed a solution that would perfectly mirror the capabilities of McAfee — both in terms of user experience and functionality, not to mention cost.
She also wanted a new archiver solution that was cloud-based, simple to use and equally dependable. With 300 GB of data to transfer between solutions, Seavers also needed an archiver that allowed for a seamless migration process.
Making matters more urgent was the fact that Seavers also needed a fast turnaround time in terms of an archiver replacement, seeing that McAfee had set a Jan. 11, 2017, deadline for discontinuing its email archiving solution.
In essence, she needed a first-rate email archiving alternative and she needed one fast.
THE SOLUTION
After evaluating a variety of solutions, Seavers decided to engage with the Intradyn sales team to talk more about their archiving solution.
Not long after first making contact, Seavers agreed to take part in an online demo in which members of both the sales and support team walked her through the interface of Intradyn’s Email Archiver, as well as its functionality related to search and retrieval. The demo proved to be a key part of convincing Seavers that Intradyn was the solution of choice. And ultimately, after roughly two weeks of back and forth, Seavers decided to sign on with Intradyn.
THE CONCLUSION
A few months into her experience with Intradyn, Seavers reported things were running smoothly and that the archiver was doing its job.
Not only was the cost of the solution comparable to the previous archiving software, as well as other solutions, but Seavers said Intradyn offered even more capabilities than anything else on the market.
“I thought it was one of the best products — the easiest to use with the most capabilities,” she said.
Mark LaCourse, account executive at Intradyn, said while the additional capabilities are a major selling point for the email archiver, its ease of use and seamless search capabilities are far and above the most enticing features. “You plug it in and forget it,” says Mark.
